Yard work, dog walking, car washing, and more.

Post a task, a local student picks it up, and you pay when it’s done. Most tasks run $20–25/hr. No minimums, no subscriptions, no strangers from across town.

Student doing yard work

Too small for a pro. Too annoying to do yourself.

You need the garage cleaned out, the dog walked three days a week, or someone to help set up for a party. A handyman charges $80 minimum. TaskRabbit sends someone from 30 miles away. Your spouse says “I’ll get to it this weekend” for the fourth week in a row.

No task too small. There’s a high school student two blocks away who’d happily do it for $20 and be grateful for the work. StudentGigs makes that connection happen, with scheduling, payment, and parent oversight built in.

Simple enough for a quick task. Safe enough for your home.

How it works.

Frequently asked questions.

What tasks can students do on StudentGigs?

Yard work, lawn mowing, dog walking, pet sitting, car washing, house cleaning, garage cleanouts, event setup, moving help, tech help, snow shoveling, leaf raking, plant watering, errands, and more. If a student can safely do it, you can post it.

How long do tasks usually take?

It varies. A dog walk might be 30 minutes, lawn mowing 1–2 hours, a garage cleanout half a day. You set the expected time when you post the gig so students know what to expect.

What if I’m not satisfied with the work?

Message the student in the app to discuss. If the issue can’t be resolved, tap Report a Problem to request a resolution. We review all disputes and may issue a partial or full refund.

Can I request a specific student?

Yes. Use the Rebook feature to request the same student for recurring or follow-up tasks. Many neighbors build ongoing relationships with reliable students.

How quickly can I get help?

For best results, post 3–5 days ahead. Some students check daily and can pick up same-day or next-day gigs, but more lead time means more applicants to choose from.

What supplies should I provide?

Provide the tools and supplies for the job, mower, rake, cleaning supplies, etc. Students bring their time and energy. If special equipment is needed, mention it in your posting.
